In my hands, I hold a copy of my commercial demo reel.  Hilarity no doubt will ensue, but more importantly, I think I'm ready to buy my webspace and start construction on awesome personified.

You can give me that line anytime

First of all, if you have never heard of anything by 'Pink Martini', please listen to them.  They are fantastic.  If you need a place to start, I highly recommend "Hey Eugene".

I'm not entirely sure why, but I've had this song in my head all day.  I think it really can come down to blaming one simple stanza:

And when we were finished making out
We noticed that your skinhead friend was gone, long gone
And you looked into my bloodshot eyes
And said, "Is it too soon if I call you Sunday?"

There is something about that image, or really just imagining being huddled in a corner, half of you drunk on alchohol, the other on the person you're with, only remotely coherent of your location and hearing the words, "Is it too soon if I call you Sunday?"  I suppose in a world that's so defined by romance rules, I find this ridiculously endearing.

-The Hopeless Romantic in Me

Ducks in a row

Talked to the fantastic Jan in the Theater Office, apparently she still has the audio files from our commercial reel.  I'm stoked--I thought I lost those forever.  I'll be heading down next Monday to pick those up.  Wish I could make it down sooner but I'd never make it in time with my work-schedule.

Sunday - Getting new headshots
Monday - Picking up audio clips and possibly burning a copy of Girl Gone...

May start to work on getting a website up before that.  We'll see.

Here We Go

Today marks my first attempt at actively making a 'professional' presence online.  I use this word loosely as, let's be honest, I'm still that short misfit with the funny colored hair who likes to dress up, collect wigs and spout Shakespeare whenever the impulse tickles me.  However, now as the disillusionment for theatre has finally faded (a weekly 5 hour commute to direct for 2 days will do that to you), I'm ready to start taking my artistic career in a more assertive fashion.

So this is it.  Here we go.  Take a deep breath.  I have a feeling it's going to be an interesting ride.
