What is Extra Life?
Extra Life is a charity organization where gamers play 24hrs straight of games of their choice with the help of sponsors whose full contribution is donated to the Children's Hospital of the gamer's choice. I'll be representing Seattle Children's hospital.
I will also be donating myself to other campaigns (because supporting myself seems a little odd for this), such as my friend +Joe Louie who I believe will be marathoning D&D. Yep, you can do table-top/analog games too. Check out the full FAQ.
What will I be doing? Well, you may recall I polled Twitter and Facebook what your favorite point-and-click adventure games were.
Yup. 25 hours of point-and-click goodness. And I'll be live-streaming it.
At least, that's the plan. I believe I've figured out my whole set up for that and I'm pretty excited to test it out. I will be running an hour-long test stream tomorrow (Tuesday) with my favorite point-and-click games, The Longest Journey, around 8pm PST. If all goes well I'll also be uploading it later to my Youtube channel. We did an offline test run on Sunday and we think we worked out all the technical kinks... at least the ones we encountered thus far.
Join me for Twitch TV Tuesdays as we go through The Longest Journey to ramp up for Nov. 2nd: http://www.twitch.tv/kiriosity
You can check out my donation page as well as the rest of my team's here: http://www.extra-life.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.team&teamID=12556
Our team goal is currently set at 1,000 and our personal goals are set at 100. I'm pretty sure we can rock that for those kids by Nov. 3rd.
